Tribes That Live Without Technology
If you’ve ever asked yourself, “Could I REALLY live without technology?†The answer is YES, infact- there are tribes all over the world that are living without technology- not only technology but for many of them; running water, transportation, electricity, etc. Technology seems like nothing compared to all that! If you’re wondering whether or not you should “unplug†you should consider it…at least for a little bit, these people are doing it! Can you?
The Hmong Tribe

The tribe found in mountainous regions of Thailand, Lao and Vietnam is a tribe that still exists today- the Hmong have maintained theur own language, custom and way of life- yep, you won’t find an iPhone anywhere there!
The Piraha People

The indigenous hunter-gatherer tribe of Amazon live on the banks of Maici River and not only do they live without technology, they can WHISTLE their language- YEAH, WHISTLE. What happens if you’re someone who can’t whistle?! You’re screwed!? They’ve also trained themselves to sleep 15 minutes to two hours at a time and rarely sleep through the night…WOW- now they deserve a medal, I could never do it.
The Maasai People

The Maasai people are one of the most well known ethnic groups-located in Kenya and northern Tanzania. The nomadic people rely on materials that are readily available for them to construct their homes which means they’re working with mud, sticks, grass, ash, urine, dung, and so on- they may have waterproof roofs but they don’t have Facebook.
The Sentinelese people

The indigenous people located in the Andaman Islands- in the Bay of Bengal have fiercely resisted contact by others…yes, meaning they don’t even DESIRE the ability to contact, or be contacted by people all the time the way that we do with our social sites and technology. All I would need is to do is see their javelins and that would be enough to get the message that they want to be left alone.
